His latest movie, THE LOST BLADESMAN, will open April 28 in Asia. The North American rights have been bought by The Weinstein Company. LEGEND OF THE FIST: THE RETURN OF CHEN ZHEN will get a US release on April 22.

    * 35th Anniversary of BSMTCAA/CWRI coming up in July!

    Grandmaster Bow Sim Mark and the Bow Sim Mark Tai Chi Arts Association will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the founding of her Boston school, the Chinese Wushu Research Institute, this summer on July 9 and 10. Plans include a open house in the afternoon and a banquet with performances on Saturday, and an open class on Sunday morning. More details will follow soon.

        * Donnie Yen's next movie is THE LOST BLADESMAN

        Grandmaster Bow Sim Mark’s son, kung fu actor Donnie Yen, will star in the upcoming film THE LOST BLADESMAN, which will be released in Asia on April 28. The story is taken from the Chinese classic novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms.” Yen plays Guan Yu, the most famous hero in Chinese history, and Jiang Wen plays Cao Cao, his nemesis. The episode dramatized by the film is known as “crossing five passes and slaying six generals,” an action packed sequence that sees General Guan facing overwhelming obstacles while escorting his sworn brother’s wife to safety.

          The Boston Globe on Feb.2 2011 has run an op ed piece by Carlo Rotella on Grandmaster Bow Sim Mark and her school, focussing on how she has been training topnotch students, including her son, Donnie Yen, and daughter, Chris Yen, since 1976.
