Illustrator, ‘Office’ trivia, title of upcoming events at Oneida Public Library

ONEIDA – The following events will take place in August at the Oneida Public Library, 220 Board St.:

August 12 at 1 p.m. – Visit of an illustrator. Local illustrator Bernie Hurlbut visits a free animal drawing workshop. From 5 to 18 years old. Walk-ins are welcome.

August 18 at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. – Scientific exploration day. The Science and Technology Museum will be on site for two special programs: Fantastic Forces (sports and games, ages 8 and up) and Explosion Explorers (explosion science, ages 11 and up).

August 19 at 6.30 p.m. – “The Office” questionnaire evening. Return to Dunder Mifflin and get ready to “feel God in this Chile tonight” with The Office Quiz Night. Food, fun and prizes, with a chance for participants to take home their own Dundie.

August 23 at 6 p.m. – August is National Wellness Month, come to the OPL for “Tools for Wellness;” Create balance in the midst of chaos ”. Learn from local mental health professionals Lenora Corpin and Jacqueline Hawkins about stress management, self-care, mindfulness, community resources, and more.

August 23-26 at 10 a.m. – LEGO Robotics. Participants will learn to build, code and compete with LEGO robots. Grades 6-8. Registration required.

August 27 at 10 a.m. – Red Cross blood drive

August 30 at 7 p.m. – Check ‘Em Out Book Club. This month the book club will read “Little Fires Everywhere,” by Celeste Ng. Books available at the lending counter. Registration required.

Tuesdays at 10 a.m. – Ready to read. Preschoolers join Miss Megan for stories and activities. Walk-ins are welcome.

Tuesdays at 4 p.m. – Farmer’s Market Story Time. Visit Miss Megan at the Cottage Lawn Farmers Market for story time.

Wednesdays at 10 a.m. – Technical assistance. Oneida Public Library technicians are ready to help users troubleshoot your devices. Walk-ins are welcome.

Thursdays at 10 a.m. – Tai Chi. Experience meditation in motion. All skill levels and walk-ins are welcome.

Saturdays at 12 p.m. – Yoga. Bring your mat and settle into our community room for virtual yoga classes. Walk-ins are welcome.
